Experiences

Sammalvalo offers unique activities and experiences that lead you on a journey into the diversity of nature. You will learn to see, experience and sense the wonders of nature in a whole new way. With my guidance, every excursion is an opportunity to stop, immerse yourself into, and connect with the surrounding nature.

Pause and observe nature

The meandering path leads you into a peaceful adventure through the diverse world of Finnish nature. When you move slowly, you have time to observe and experience the natural diversity both up close and from afar.

Wrapped in the forest’s embrace

Peacefully, you follow the trail deeper into the forest. Your mind quietens, your eyes open, intriguing scents drift to your nose, soft trembling reaches your ears. Patterns and shapes, small creatures, tall trees stretching towards the sky. Time slips away.

The meandering trail leads you to the resting place. The dancing flames of the campfire draw you closer. Staring into the flames, tales and songs carry you into a world of myths and mysteries.

An adventure in biodiversity

A yellow slime mould

As you walk along the forest path, you start to breathe easily, your heart beats slower. You look around. The soft, green carpet of moss lining the path beckons you closer.

You stop, crouch down and examine the soft forest floor. The shapes of moss leaves and stems come into detail; their growth patterns intrigue you. Soon, you distinguish two, perhaps three clear moss species, not just a green blanket. Your curiosity is piqued and you want to know the names of the species growing on the forest floor.

Imaginary journey into biodiversity

Reindeer lichen

Walking along a forest path, you start breathing calmly, your heart beats more slowly. You look left, right, ahead looking for shapes and patterns. At the edge of the path, something catches your attention, draws you closer.

YYou stop, crouch down, look. The species captivates you. You study it closely. Its shapes, the way it grows, its movements awaken something in you. You go even closer, maybe touch it. You want to record the species, but what is the best way to do that when you don’t want to use your phone in the wild?
